A symptom of many diseases of the ENT organs and other systems is hoarseness. This is a kind of change in its timbre, pitch and volume, which is part of the concept of dysphonia. The most common cause of this symptom is acute laryngitis, which can cause hoarseness, fatigue, and even loss of voice. However, hoarseness can also occur due to other diseases. Treatment

Often our specialists use surgical treatment. Our surgeons use minimally invasive surgery methods. During surgery, performed under general anesthesia, the vocal cords are examined under a microscope. There are several possible options for removing formations – with a laser, scissors or debrider. The aim of the operation is to remove all available diseased tissue – if possible, but sometimes the doctor is forced to act gradually so as not to damage the vocal cords. After surgery the patient needs to not speak for a week. One week after the surgery, you can gradually start talking, avoiding eating spicy / sour / seasoned food for a month. Avoid drinking carbonated drinks and alcohol for a month, visit a speech therapist during the entire recovery time.
