Treatment at Tel Aviv Medical Clinic

It believed that first and second-degree burns could be treated on their own.

In any case, it is necessary to know the algorithm of first aid actions for wounds.

    • Stop exposure to the scalding factor. Remove clothing from the burnt area. It retains heat, but pieces of tissue adhering to the skin indicate that it is necessary to see a doctor. They cannot tear off. Wash off or wipe off the caustic substance that has come into contact with the skin with an absorbent cloth, remove the victim from a heat source, or open sunlight.
    • Cool down a place that has exposed to a hot object or burning liquid. Coldwater or a cooling compress will do. You can also use folk remedies: a cooling lotion made from raw grated potatoes. It is essential not to leave the compress on the affected area for more than 15 minutes: when heated, it will already warm, which can aggravate the condition of the skin.
    • Treat the burn site with a special agent to treat such damage. It is wise to have such drugs in your home medicine cabinet, especially if there are children in the house.

Third and fourth-degree burns require immediate medical attention. If there is a reason to suspect a third or fourth-degree burn, an ambulance must be called immediately. Before the doctor’s arrival, the victim should give a large amount of drink, preferably alkaline mineral water. Cover the affected area with a clean, dry cloth, but do not press down on it.
